Covid-19 Coronavirus Updates for Monument Tools
Monument Tools is monitoring the situation very closely and wants to ensure it communicates its current status to employees, customers and suppliers.
Monument subscribes to the Daily Update from gov.uk giving government guidance. Monument posts only relevant updates to the information, as appropriate to this page.

Monument will continue to Stay Positive, be both Pragmatic and Practical in its decisions for Employees, Customers and Suppliers.
March 2022 Update. [🆗]
Further to government announced changes in February 2022 we have updated our Covid-19 Risk Assessment. We would inform customer and suppliers visiting that we have a individual preference on mask wearing and request suppliers and customers wear masks when requested to do so. We continue with social distancing, good hygiene and cleaning regimes and good ventilation. We have a recommendation that employees self isolate if they test positive.
February 2021 Update. [🆗]
There are no significant changes in government guidelines since 24th March 2020 affecting Monument from the Daily Update from gov.uk. Please see 24th March 2020 below. We have two employees currently shielding.
5th January 2021
Third Lockdown – 5th January 2021
Monument will proceed as per previous lockdowns. We have advised all employees to wear face coverings at all time whilst on the premises.
4th November 2020
Second Lockdown – 5th November to 2nd December 2020 inclusive
Further to government, BMF and Construction Leadership Council Guidelines, Monument Tools remains “open”. Once again it is not business as usual by any means. We have in place guidelines for travel for our Account Managers, these can be obtained from Sales Director, Jamie Fisher as they are subject to change from area to area and week to week.
We have in place a Covid Risk Assessment on the premises.
18th September 2020
Face masks update.
Due to the current rise in infections across the UK, we are recommending that all visitors, customers and suppliers, as well as contractors wear a suitable facemask on site. Additional signage is being updated.
It is also recommended that where employees are engaging in activities inside 2m, that employees respectfully wear a facemask. Facemasks have been distributed to all employees for this purpose.

Employee Guidance
Having read and absorbed the above government guidance, Monument Tools remains open. By no means is this “business as usual” as significant changes are being implemented.
Employees at the Manufacturing and Warehouse Facility in Hackbridge should follow the recommended guidelines about washing hands with SOAP and water [Note SOAP kills the virus. We interviewed the majority of employees and the vast majority did not understand the “Why” of washing hands with soap and water]. We are further positively reinforcing the need for social distancing in the workplace.
Where practicable, employees are being asked to work from home.

Customer Information
Wholesale, Merchant, Retail and Export Customers : Where possible and subject to stock issues, we will be manufacturing, packaging, picking, packing and shipping to our usual standards.
Customer Collections and Repairs : We would kindly request customer collecting and delivering machines for repair that these are done so at the Good Entrance B. Whilst we would normally extend washroom and drinks facilities to these customers we would politely ask that customers remain outside (where practicable) and follow social distancing guidelines.
Points of contact : There are no changes to points of contact e.g. Account Managers, Sales Office phone numbers and email addresses
Account Managers visiting Customer Premises : Monument will ensure its Account Managers wear suitable PPE and conform to social distancing guidance whist at customer premises. It seems reasonable to expect our customers are following social distancing guidance. If Monument account managers encounter premises which they feel that social distancing guidelines are not be adhered to, they should reserve the right not to attend the customer’s premises and communicate via phone or other suitable, mutually acceptable way.
Supplier Information
Ordering : We continue to place orders with and contract with our suppliers. Our supply chain is vitally important to our business and our customers businesses.
Deliveries : We would kindly request suppliers delivering raw materials, components and other equipment are done so at the Good Entrance B or C (as applicable). Whilst we would normally extend washroom and drinks facilities to our suppliers we would politely ask that suppliers and delivery drivers remain outside (where practicable) and follow social distancing guidelines.
Visits to Supplier Premises : Monument will ensure its staff wear suitable PPE and conform to social distancing guidance whist at supplier premises. It seems reasonable to expect our suppliers are following social distancing guidance. If Monument staff encounter premises which they feel that social distancing guidelines are not be adhered to, they should reserve the right not to attend the supplier’s premises and communicate via phone or other suitable, mutually acceptable way.
