Full guidance on staying at home and away from others
Further businesses and premises to close
Having read and absorbed the above government guidance, Monument Tools remains open. By no means is this “business as usual” as significant changes are being implemented.
Employees at the Manufacturing and Warehouse Facility in Hackbridge should follow the recommended guidelines about washing hands with SOAP and water [Note SOAP kills the virus. We interviewed the majority of employees and the vast majority did not understand the “Why” of washing hands with soap and water]. We are further positively reinforcing the need for social distancing in the workplace.
Where practicable, employees are being asked to work from home.
Information is posted around the manufacturing, warehousing and office facility. These include :
Employers and Business Guidance
Best Practice from NHS : How to Wash Your Hands
Wholesale, Merchant, Retail and Export Customers : Where possible and subject to stock issues, we will be manufacturing, packaging, picking, packing and shipping to our usual standards.
Customer Collections and Repairs : We would kindly request customer collecting and delivering machines for repair that these are done so at the Good Entrance B. Whilst we would normally extend washroom and drinks facilities to these customers we would politely ask that customers remain outside (where practicable) and follow social distancing guidelines.
Points of contact : There are no changes to points of contact e.g. Account Managers, Sales Office phone numbers and email addresses
Account Managers visiting Customer Premises : Monument will ensure its Account Managers wear suitable PPE and conform to social distancing guidance whist at customer premises. It seems reasonable to expect our customers are following social distancing guidance. If Monument account managers encounter premises which they feel that social distancing guidelines are not be adhered to, they should reserve the right not to attend the customer’s premises and communicate via phone or other suitable, mutually acceptable way.
Ordering : We continue to place orders with and contract with our suppliers. Our supply chain is vitally important to our business and our customers businesses.
Deliveries : We would kindly request suppliers delivering raw materials, components and other equipment are done so at the Good Entrance B or C (as applicable). Whilst we would normally extend washroom and drinks facilities to our suppliers we would politely ask that suppliers and delivery drivers remain outside (where practicable) and follow social distancing guidelines.
Visits to Supplier Premises : Monument will ensure its staff wear suitable PPE and conform to social distancing guidance whist at supplier premises. It seems reasonable to expect our suppliers are following social distancing guidance. If Monument staff encounter premises which they feel that social distancing guidelines are not be adhered to, they should reserve the right not to attend the supplier’s premises and communicate via phone or other suitable, mutually acceptable way.
